Honouring Altschwager history, Carpenter Rocks takes its name from the small town near Mount Gambier where the family has farmed for 150 years.

Vineyard
Clone 115, 10-year-old vines, flint pebble/limestone soil, cane pruned.

Winemaking
48-hour cold soak, 10% whole bunch, 10-day ferment, 30% new oak (French), 1 year aged in oak.

Aroma
Cherry, violet, oak, spice.

Palate
Red cherry, raspberry, dried herbs, spice, oak, chalky tannin, balanced acid.

Pinot Gris

Vineyard
10-year-old vines, flint pebble/limestone soil, cane pruned.

Winemaking
Machine picked, pressed off skins, cold settled, fermented cool for 15 days.

Aroma
Quince, pear, honeysuckle.

Palate
Quince, pear, honey, crisp acid.

 
 

Chardonnay

Vineyard
Clone 76, 10-year-old vines, flint pebble/limestone soil, cane pruned.

Winemaking
Handpicked, whole bunch pressed, barrel fermented, barrel stirred, 100% malolactic fermentation, 15% new oak, 1 year aged in oak.

Aroma
Lemon, red apple, pear, nectarine.

Palate
